COVVI BIONIC HAND

Covvi is a Leeds, UK based company who designs and manufactures a bionic hand with extraordinary features. I've been using the Covvi hand for over a year now and it's allowing me to get on with day-to-day tasks! It uses AI tech to enhance movement efficiency and is compatible with the CoApt Complete Control advanced pattern recognition myoelectric control technology for upper limb prosthetics.

WillowWood Alpha Control Liner

Ohio based company WillowWood has just brought The Alpha Control Liner System: it's a liner you put on your residual upper arm. Its has embedded electrodes and leads that convert muscle movements into electric impulses that command the articulated elbow and bionic hand. It also locks into the socket securely through magnetic docking. This product just launched and I can't wait to try it out!

Lindhe Xtend Connect Prime

This is a clever invention from Swedish company Lindhe, which allows me to disconnect my foot from the socket. Very handy when you need a quick change of shoes or when you put on leggings or trousers.

ETHNOCARE OVERLAY

Ethnocare is a Canadian company based in Montreal. They've come up with a smart device, inspired by sportswear tech, for transtibial amputees: it uses air to manage the changes in limb volume. Amazing for those below the knee amputees who are active! I wore it all the way up Mt Kilimanjaro and it was great to manage changes in volume in my residual limb without having to take the socket off.

Ossur Pro-Flex Terra foot

The Icelandic Prosthetic company Ossur has released a new foot this summer: the Pro-Flex Terra is a multi-blade prosthetic foot featuring an innovative pre-compressed top blade. It offers a truly unique combination of softness and flexibility, and powerful energy return which enables me to adapt to uneven grounds and slopes. I tested it under the harshest conditions (-20C, dust, ice) as I reached the summit of Kilimanjaro and it delivered! Now I wear it almost every day.

Gyromotics Foot Adjustable Heel

This Dutch company Gyromotics has created a durable foot made out of space grade titanium and carbon fiber that not only looks cool but also allows you to adjust the heel height and customise the front cap. I hope to try this out in 2025 as it would perhaps help me get on my tippy toes and maybe even wear heels again!
